More than 40 million turkeys are killed every year for Thanksgiving alone. On factory farms, workers cut off turkeys’ beaks and claws without anesthetics, and the birds are crammed into warehouses where diseases, smothering, and heart attacks are common. Turkeys on factory farms are genetically bred to grow so quickly that their bones and leg muscles often give out under the stress of supporting their huge upper bodies, so countless birds are barely able to stand. People who gobble up turkey are prone to killers that include heart disease, cancer, strokes, diabetes, and other ailments. They’re also at risk for food poisoning—studies indicate that up to 90 percent of supermarket turkeys are contaminated with salmonella and other dangerous bacteria.

By doing so there will no longer be a need for credit cards to identify someone at a cash machine or bank; instead a machine will pick up the signal being put out from the chip inside you.
