Located in the beautiful Sierra Nevada Foothills in the heart of California’s “Gold Country” lies
Sonora, named from Sonoran miners who settled the City in 1848. Known as the “Queen of the Southern Mines”, this pristine City still holds on to its historic charm with many of its existing buildings dating back to the 1800’s. In fact, a walk along just about any street in the City is to reminisce with days gone by, a brick or stone building, a slate wall, an iron shutter or fence, or a historic home nestled in an old fashioned garden.

National World War II Memorial Opens Today
The monument is in the mall, between the Washington Monument and the Lincoln Memorial. Two 43-foot granite arches adorned with bronze eagles and symbolizing the Atlantic and Pacific theaters of the war stand at each end of an oval pool of water filled with fountains and waterfalls. A wall of 4,000 gold stars commemorates the more than 400,000 Americans killed.
Fifty-six smaller granite pillars decorated with bronze wreaths surround the pool, representing a state or territory from that period and the District of Columbia.

...A High Surf Advisory Remains In Effect Until 200 Pm Thursday For The Orange County Coastal Area...
A steady South swell of 5 feet with a period around 16 seconds will continue through Thursday morning. This will result in surf heights of 5 to 8 feet on exposed southwest facing beaches... with frequent sets near 10 feet. The swell is expected to slowly subside Thursday afternoon and Thursday night.
Surfers are reminded that the surf will be strong enough to easily break boards and leashes.
In addition to strong rip currents... strong littoral currents setting towards the North will be present. These will be feeding into the rip currents. If you get caught in a rip current... the best course of action is to let it carry you out to sea... then swim back in through the surf zone. Conserve your strength by body surfing or letting the White Water push you towards shore. Be prepared for a strong side current near the beach.
Mariners entering and exiting Dana Point Marina and Newport Bay... may encounter breaking waves around the time of low tide. Low tide today will occur near noon.

NEW YORK—Responding to recent events on Earth, God, the omniscient creator-deity worshipped by billions of followers of various faiths for more than 6,000 years, angrily clarified His longtime stance against humans killing each other.
"Look, I don't know, maybe I haven't made myself completely clear, so for the record, here it is again," said the Lord, His divine face betraying visible emotion during a press conference near the site of the fallen Twin Towers. "Somehow, people keep coming up with the idea that I want them to kill their neighbor. Well, I don't. And to be honest, I'm really getting sick and tired of it. Get it straight. Not only do I not want anybody to kill anyone, but I specifically commanded you not to, in really simple terms that anybody ought to be able to understand."
