So let me get this right, we are going to have to suffer through “A Day without a Mexican” to more appreciate those citizens of Mexico who have broken into our country? Ok, I think I get it; it is ok for someone to break into your home so long as they do the dishes...
Forgive San Diegans if they think misuse of wealth and power, arrogance, deceit, and a sense of entitlement are universal characteristics of Orange County. Consider their real-world evidence—The O.C., The Real O.C., Arrested Development, The Real Housewives of Orange County, and now the county’s plan to extend our southernmost toll road through San Diego County, a plan no one bothered to run by San Diego officials... -ABZ .

San Diego Gas & Electric has reversed course and opted to invest $142 million to replace aging equipment at the San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station.
The utility's investment represents 20 percent of the $680 million that will be required to replace steam generators at the seaside electric generating facility.
SDG&E has a 20 percent ownership stake in the plant and receives a comparable share of its output, or about 430 megawatts. A megawatt is sufficient to power about 1,000 typical homes.
SDG&E had earlier hoped to avoid the investment and instead enter into an agreement to simply purchase power from the plant, which is operated by Southern California Edison, the facility's majority owner.
The local utility had hoped to retain at least part of its stake in the nuclear power plant. But an arbitrator ruled that if SDG&E failed to invest in the new equipment, it would forfeit its entire stake... .

On Feb. 1, congressional Democrats led by Rep. David Obey of Wisconsin introduced a bill that, if approved, would end viable third-party competition in races for the U.S. House of Representatives.
The bill, H.R. 4694, ironically known as the "Let the People Decide Clean Campaign Act," would give public funds to candidates for the House and would forbid candidates from taking private funds such as contributions from individual donors.
The bill provides funds only for candidates of the two major parties and would essentially ruin the campaign efforts of independent candidates and those from the smaller parties.
For third-party candidates to be eligible for the same funds that Republicans and Democrats would receive, they would have to obtain petition signatures from a huge number of voters — a number equal to 20 percent of the votes cast in the prior election in their district.
Some candidates could collect that many signatures, assuming they could hire help.
However, under the proposed legislation, third-party and independent candidates would not be allowed to pay petitioners to collect signatures — meaning that all such candidates would be forced either to collect all of the signatures themselves or to raise enough volunteers to help with the job.
It's likely that many hopeful candidates would be unable to fund their campaigns under this legislation.
H.R. 4694 is yet another attempt by politicians in office to shut down Libertarian Party candidates and other competitive third-party and independent campaigns.
The Republican and Democratic parties exist to maintain power for their own benefit, said Shane Cory, chief of staff for the national Libertarian Party.
American voters are waking up to this reality, and as they do, the two parties are trying everything within their power to shut us down... .

MICROSOFT is to enhance the product-activation programme in its Office software to make it more like that in Windows.
And it will extend its 'Windows Genuine Advantage' (WGA) programme to send alerts directly to users of pirate software, the company said yesterday.
Under a Volish scheme - the Genuine Software Initiative - Microsoft said it will provide "notifications" to consumers using non-genuine Microsoft Windows XP.
"Customers" who are running a non-genuine copy of Windows, get to have the notifications beamed "directly to their desktop" to inform them that, "the copy of Windows they are running isn’t genuine".
The initiative extends to Office, which gets its own Genuine Advantage programme (OGA) that, said the Vole, will operate almost identically to Windows Genuine Advantage (WGA).
The company has begun piloting OGA in seven languages: Brazilian Portuguese, Czech, Greek, Korean, Simplified Chinese, Russian and Spanish. It wants to get them onside before dealing with the English-speaking world.
Microsoft said software piracy is a blight on the landscape. It will extend the Genuine Advantage programme to as many products as it can, as quickly as possible.
Vaporization occurs through a process that takes advantage of the physical properties of the resins in the material. These resins turn into a vapor around 380 degrees F. and the material does not start to combust until well above that, say around 450 degrees F. or so. The material is heated until the resins volatize into a thin, cool, clear oil vapor mist.
This bypasses the combustion process, leaves out all the side products and side gases of an actual self-sustaining fire. Heavy debris like ash, and obvious toxic gases like CO2 and carbon monoxide as well as several other highly noxious gases. Naturally the oil vapor is much cleaner, cooler and less irritating than the much hotter smoke, providing a more flavorful taste. Studies indicate that about 20% - 40% of resin is destroyed or flash-fried by hot gas lighters, leaving the transfer rate of actual resin in vaporizers higher than other devices of intake such as a pipe. Consequently, it is not only better for your health, but also a more efficient way to enjoy fine material... .
